Sofoniyas Tesfaye
Pinel Tesfaye
Sofoniyas Tesfaye is a Pan-African innovation leader with vast experience in practicing and teaching design thinking across Africa, Asia, and the United States. He has applied human-centered design principles at prestigious global institutions and is a recipient of several prestigious fellowships, including the Mandela Washington Fellowship and UNLEASH Innovation Lab. He has led innovation labs, workshops, and peacebuilding programs for thousands of youth, educators, and changemakers. Sofoniyas believes that design is not just a method—it's a mindset. This belief drove him to establish Innovate Afrika, a platform dedicated to empowering children, educators, and entrepreneurs across Africa and the diaspora to address challenges with creativity, empathy, and action.
