Founder
Sofoniyas Tesfaye
Sofoniyas Tesfaye is a Pan-African innovation leader with years of experience practicing and teaching design thinking across Africa, Asia, and the United States.
He has studied and applied human-centered design at top global institutions such as Infosys Corporate University (India), the University of Virginia, and William & Mary College (USA).An alumnus of multiple prestigious fellowships, including the Mandela Washington Fellowship, UNLEASH Innovation Lab, and he has led innovation labs, workshops, and peacebuilding programs for thousands of youth, teachers, and changemakers. Sofoniyas believes design is not just a method—it’s a mindset. That belief led to the creation of Innovate Afrika, a platform empowering kids, educators, and entrepreneurs across Africa and the diaspora to solve problems with creativity, empathy, and action
